Latrene, lavatory, loo, toilet, water closet: whatever you call them here in Tibet they're all stinky messes - - I'm sorry to be so graphic but I have taken a series of photos for your viewing pleasure. It's important to wait until you can't wait any longer to go to the loo because you just don't want to lollygag in these places. Reaching the point of desperation speeds the process along. Eek. Flush toilets were a rare and beautiful site for me! But then, of course, there's always the "nature toilet" where you don't even bother with the official thing; just find a rock on the side of the road and you're good to go!
